Worst Olympics Ever | Hungry, anyone?

Many of the doves released at the opening ceremony of the 1988 Seoul Olympics were accidentally roasted alive when the Olympic flame was lit.



With the eyes of the world on Seoul for what was essentially South Korea’s coming-out party, the opening ceremony got off to an unfortunate start. Releasing a flock of doves into the stadium might have seemed like a good idea on paper, but the reality was actually pretty gruesome: as the cauldron was lit, a host of birds were burned to a crisp in front of the entire planet.
